Fitzroy Surf Life Saving Club

Located on the West Coast, in the heart of New Plymouth, Fitzroy Surf Lifesaving Club has been watching out over Fitzroy Beach since 1921. Our primary goal of our club is to keep beachgoers as safe as possible during patrol hours. Our core goals are to patrol the beach, train lifeguards, and teach and guide our Junior Surf members, the lifeguards of the future. We pride ourselves on being a fun, family-oriented club and we welcome anyone, of any age and ability, who wants to become a member.

Club Centenary Labour Weekend 2022

It is with great disappointment that the organising committee has made the decision to postpone our centenary celebrations for Labour Weekend.

With the uncertainty around Alert Level changes and hesitancy of people to travel, coupled with us facing a possible financial loss, we have decided that we will instead hold the Centenary at Labour Weekend 2022. Organisers of many events around the country are making the same call and postponing until a later date.

We understand that many of you will be disappointed. However our members and supporters living overseas and in other parts of New Zealand can now have the opportunity to attend. We believe that by October next year there should be no restrictions on travel and large gatherings.

The website will remain live for registrations – so keep them coming! In the meantime, please take care of yourselves. Let’s look forward to a massive party in 2022!
